1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy explains the rules for using Mekete.
It applies to customers, event organisers, supplier applicants, approved suppliers, admins and any other users of the platform.
Mekete is intended to support legitimate event equipment sourcing, supplier applications, supplier verification, quoting, booking handover and supplier subscription services.
2. General rules
Users must:
- provide accurate and truthful information;
- use Mekete only for lawful purposes;
- respect other users;
- communicate professionally;
- comply with platform rules and applicable laws;
- avoid conduct that harms Mekete, customers, suppliers or the integrity of the supplier network.
3. Prohibited customer conduct
Customers and event organisers must not:
- submit fake quote requests;
- submit requests with false names, contact details, locations or event information;
- use Mekete to spam suppliers;
- request quotes with no genuine intention to consider suppliers;
- abuse, threaten, harass or insult suppliers, admins or other users;
- attempt to bypass Mekete's platform process for fraudulent purposes;
- misuse supplier quotes, pricing, product information or contact details;
- submit unlawful, discriminatory, abusive or offensive content;
- impersonate another person or organisation.
4. Prohibited supplier conduct
Supplier applicants and approved suppliers must not:
- misrepresent their business identity, ownership, location or contact details;
- claim to own equipment they do not own unless clearly marked as sourced or arranged;
- misrepresent quantities, availability, colours, finishes, sizes or product capability;
- submit false equipment photos, product sheets, references or verification evidence;
- use a Mekete badge, verification status or approval claim without permission;
- quote for requests they cannot reasonably fulfil;
- repeatedly ignore leads or fail to respond within required timelines;
- pressure customers to move outside the platform in a misleading or abusive way;
- charge hidden fees not disclosed in the quote;
- abuse, threaten, harass or discriminate against customers, admins or other suppliers;
- use Mekete for fraud, unlawful activity or misleading conduct.
5. Prohibited platform conduct
Users must not:
- attempt to hack, disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the platform;
- bypass access controls or role restrictions;
- access accounts, dashboards, data or notifications that do not belong to them;
- upload malware, harmful code or unsafe files;
- interfere with platform security;
- create multiple accounts to evade restrictions;
- use automated systems without permission;
- collect other users' personal information for unauthorised purposes.
6. Supplier verification and quality standards
Mekete is a verified supplier network. Suppliers may be required to submit information and evidence for review.
Mekete may approve, decline, waitlist, suspend or remove suppliers based on verification, conduct, response behaviour, quote quality, customer feedback, issue reports, subscription status or platform risk.
Suppliers must keep their profiles, product capabilities, service areas, contact details and availability information accurate and up to date.
7. Customer requests and supplier quotes
Customers must provide clear and accurate event information to help suppliers quote correctly.
Suppliers must ensure quotes are clear, accurate and not misleading. Quotes should state what is included, what is excluded, pricing, deposit requirements, balance due, delivery/setup costs, validity period and relevant terms.
8. Communications
Users must communicate respectfully and professionally. Mekete may monitor platform communications where necessary to manage quote requests, clarifications, disputes, supplier performance and platform safety.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, fraudulent or misleading communication may result in account restriction or removal.
9. Payments and subscriptions
Mekete may process supplier subscription payments for platform access or supplier services.
Mekete does not currently process customer event booking payments, supplier payouts, escrow, split payments or marketplace settlement for event bookings.
Users must not misrepresent payment arrangements or claim that Mekete has processed a booking payment where it has not done so.
10. Disputes and issue reports
Mekete may review disputes or issue reports involving supplier performance, missing items, late delivery, incorrect equipment, quote mismatch, setup issues, communication issues or other booking concerns.
Mekete may use dispute and issue information to adjust supplier visibility, reliability, verification status, tier eligibility or access to future leads.
11. Enforcement
If a user breaches this Acceptable Use Policy, Mekete may take action, including:
- requesting correction of information;
- restricting access;
- suspending an account;
- removing supplier visibility;
- withholding lead access;
- revoking approval or verification status;
- cancelling supplier access;
- reporting unlawful activity where appropriate.
Mekete may take action at its discretion to protect customers, suppliers and platform integrity.

13. Changes to this policy
Mekete may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. The updated version will be published on the website with a revised effective date.
